Penelope, Homer's Oddessy

In book two of Homers The Odyssey, a fierce debate springs up between Telemachus and Penelopes suitors. The two parties argue mainly over Penelopes future and her refusal to either reject entirely the suitors or film ane as her spouse. However, all throughout the debate, no bingle stops to ask Penelopes opinion or even stops to ponder the fact that she might read a say in the outcome of her future. Women living in ancient Greece such as Penelope had few rights and were viewed well-nigh as property. The suitors see Penelope as a pillage, and the nice best of cherishs, with her lavish dowry, beauty, and high social status that would veer them to become king.
